IO Interactive, known for its Hitman series, will be the one publishing MindsEye, the expansive and somewhat mysterious endeavor by Build A Rocket Boy. IO Interactive announced today that it is forming a new third-party publishing division called IOI Partners which signed the new game with the newly formed studio led by Leslie Benzies, who used to be a producer on the Grand Theft Auto series.

The newly formed studio has been focused on one thing since its inception, and that is making the next generation of gaming by expanding its horizons. This, coming from someone who comes from a background in GTA is quite promising, but also quite a lofty goal.

MindsEye is being touted as a AAA premium game in an โ€œever-evolvingโ€ universe, which, in simpler terms, likely translates to a live-service game, likely akin to GTA Online. Build A Rocket Boy is excited to have a partner like IO Interactive due to its extensive experience in making premium action-adventure games.

Although MindsEye promises an ever-evolving experience, it is also a story-driven action-adventure thriller that takes place in a fictional universe in the near future. Not only that, Build A Rocket Boy claims it will have genre-defining cinematics, fast-paced driving, and explosive combat.

Players will take control of Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier who has a mysterious neural implant and has memory loss along with flashbacks. The setting seems very interesting and will include covert missions and artificial intelligence will also play a role in the gameโ€™s narrative.

Such grandiose goals from a newly started company may seem far-fetched at first, but let’s not forget that Build A Rocket Boy secured $110 million in seed funding which will allow it to create and release three different flagship products. One of which is MindsEye, another is an open-world experience called Everywhere, and finally, a suite of UGC design tools titled Arcadia.

Make A Rocket Boy confirmed that MindsEye will be a part of the bigger project called Everywhere, which will likely be published by IO Interactive as well. So once a single-player experience makes it out into the hands of players, all of its assets will become usable for everyone playing Everywhere to include in their own projects. For now, no release date or launch window has been confirmed for Everywhere and MindsEye, the same can be said for the platforms.
