The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando will be getting a new attraction. The newest addition to Harry Potter world will be located around Hogsmeade, and Universal is promising something truly unique. Parkgoers can expect a thrill ride that will combine our favorite characters and locations with action-packed adventure and “a new level of storytelling” never quite seen before. When describing this new experience in their blog, Universal had this to say:
“This all-new thrill ride will take you deeper into J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, where you will encounter some of your favorite characters and creatures. It’ll be unlike anything we’ve ever done before and it will be fun for the entire family. The new attraction will be one of the most highly-themed coaster experiences we’ve created. It will combine a new level of storytelling with an action-packed adventure…and a few surprises along the way.”
Unfortunately, this is about all we know about the attraction as of right now. The production team behind the Harry Potter films will be teaming up with the Universal creative team to make it the best attraction that it can be. There has been no word on when the attraction will open, and starting on September 5th the Dragon Challenge Coaster will be permanently closed to make room for the brand new ride.
If you don’t think that you can wait that long, no worries! The Wizarding World will get a makeover for the holiday season that will include decorations, light projection shows, live performances, and holiday goodies featured in the Harry Potter series. This special event will run November 18th, 2017 through January 6th, 2018.
