Call of Duty Cheat Provider Reveals How Players Can Misuse Ricochet Anti-Cheat System

The manual command is gone, thankfully.

Call of Duty‘s struggle with the cheaters is a never-ending battle that’s been taken on a more extensive scale since Warzone integration in 2020. Cheat providers are constantly looking for ways to enhance their tools and software, while Call of Duty relies on Ricochet anti-cheat system to stop them. And while the number of cheaters has been dropping since four years ago, there are still some days that we see a pesky wallhacker ruining our match or even restricting our accounts with a few words.

Ricochet has gone a long way to stop these hackers from accessing Call of Duty lobbies, and it seems like their protection has been compromised. zebleer, the owner of the Phantom Overlay cheat specialist, has showcased that players can send a friend request or a whisper, typing “only two words” like “Trigger Bot” or “Aim Bot” to trigger the Ricochet anti-cheat system’s action. This would ban the player, which has occurred to many players in the past couple of weeks.

Call of Duty Updates account on X has addressed the recent bans of legitimate players, stating that a workaround has “impacted a small number of legitimate player accounts.” Although this “workaround” is not directly and officially detailed, it’s good news that it’s been disabled at least.

Regardless, this exploit has also affected the prominent streamer BobbyPoff, whose Activision account got banned on October 3, and was suddenly restored in later days. This has certainly damaged the reputation of the streamer, which he describes as “having your name drug through the mud for 2 weeks for something you never did and being offered 0 explanation.”

Public apology would go a long way. Imagine having your name drug through the mud for 2 weeks for something you never did and being offered 0 explanation. Oh wait that was ME the past 2 weeks!!!

Team Ricochet has updated the Call of Duty blog with a new post, revealing their plan for protecting Black Ops 6 from cheats and hackers. The highlight of the show, however, is that Ricochet is seemingly working on “AI to find and fight cheaters.”

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
