Black Ops 6 doesn’t come with an early access feature, however, there’s one simple trick for playing the latest Call of Duty entry earlier than the others on October 24. Unlike the previous CoD titles, Black Ops 6 doesn’t differentiate its launch date for the normal and premium editions of the game; unless you live in New Zealand.
How To Play Black Ops 6 Early
The only way to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 early is by using a New Zealand IP address, or live there. Black Ops 6 launches on October 25 in most other regions, while New Zealand players can access the game nearly a day earlier on October 24. But, what if you don’t live in New Zealand?
The trick to playing Black Ops 6 early from anywhere on the globe is to change your account’s region. Now remember, this workaround only works on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. If you’ve bought the game on Steam or Battle.Net, the earliest you can play is October 25 at 9 a.m. PT.
To change your account’s region on
- Head over to settings.
- Select System and then Language and Location settings.
- Set your Region to New Zealand; that’s it.
Unfortunately, you can’t just change your region and access the New Zealand PlayStation Store on PS5 and PS4 consoles to play Black Ops 6 early. The only way for this is by changing your IP address, AKA using VPN services. There are also some limitations on changing your PSN account’s region, so you might need to create a new account. If your account is already set in the New Zealand region, congrats!
This is the first time in long years that Call of Duty has decided not to include an early access feature for its new game. In the past couple of years, we could at least play the Campaign first as the pre-order bonus, and then jump into the Multiplayer and Co-Op action later on the global launch date.
