This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

A few months ago, I had the chance to attend a closed-door event where I looked at Embark Studios’ next endeavor, ARC Raiders. Initially, I mentioned how great the game looked due to the innovative art style, a world that shifts away from the gloomy color palette and instead brings something colorful but equally dangerous. Now, ARC Raiders has launched its first gameplay reveal trailer, and I must say it looks even better than I anticipated. Most importantly, it’s made me even more eager to try this extraction shooter whenever it launches.

ARC Raiders | Gameplay Reveal

As you can see in this 6-minute gameplay trailer, ARC Raiders is already looking snappy, intricate, and immersive. We can see a squad of Raiders delving into some of the abandoned buildings in the game and engaging in the now PvPvE content. As I said before, I was a bit skeptical about the now PvP focus, but after watching the latest trailer, I can say I’m all in for it. But it isn’t only me, a lot of players have voiced their excitement for the game.

Holy sh*t that looks so good.

Others really dissected the trailer and realized that ARC Raiders‘ sound design is beyond amazing, and I wholeheartedly agree. In a game where you need to be on your toes and try to listen for any incoming menaces, this extraction shooter is already miles ahead of any other in the market, in terms of audio design at least.

God, I actually love how the zipline sounds exactly the same as it does in The Finals

Beyond the similar-sounding zipline, everything else adds to the immersion of exploring an abandoned building with drones, enemy raiders, and other dangers lurking around.

In terms of gunplay, it looks quite solid and many like the third-person over-the-shoulder approach instead of the overused first-person camera for other extraction shooters. Overall, the reaction to this reveal has been quite positive.

It’s beautiful and fun as hell. Can’t wait until it comes out.

While there isn’t a release date yet, we can’t wait for ARC Raiders to finally launch. Furthermore, with is releasing on several platforms, it will bring the extraction shooter genre to even more people, which is always good. Hopefully, we’ll see or hear more of this game soon because we’re eager to try our luck in this perilous yet gorgeous world.
