Nether Wart has been around for a long time, a mainstay item since November 2011’s version 1.0.0. However, the Nether Wart Blocks are considered more recent additions to Minecraft, which were included in the Frostburn Update and featured prominently in the Nether Update. Locating this item can be hard as it only spawns in a specific biome in the Nether and comes in two variants. Here’s how you can find the Nether and Warped Wart Blocks in Minecraft Java and Bedrock versions.
The Best Place To Find Wart Blocks in Minecraft
As mentioned above, there are two variations of Wart Blocks in the game. Nevertheless, both can only be found in the Nether, they cannot appear in the Overworld:
- Nether Wart Blocks, colored red, spawn in the Nether’s Crimson Forest biome.
- Warped Wart Blocks, colored cyan and true to their name, are found in the Warped Forest biome.
Both Wart Blocks variants in Minecraft are mostly located on the Y: 55-58 coordinate and can be mined using any tool or by hand. But as usual, a Hoe is your best friend as any level of Hoe can easily break them. Aside from being mined, a Nether Wart Block can be crafted using Nether Wart x6. Nether Warts are a type of red fungus that can only be located in the Nether.
In case you don’t know how to get to the Nether, the solution is quite simple; although gathering the required ingredients isn’t so. You need to make a 4×5 gate using Obsidian Blocks and then light up the hole with Flint & Steel. Doing so will create a Nether Portal which lets you switch between the Overworld and the Nether dimension when crossed.
What Do You Use The Blocks For?
The Nether and Warped Wart Blocks’ unique colorizations make them great for decorating your Minecraft base. But besides that, Wart blocks can be fed into a Composter. Every time you do it, there is a 85% chance of leveling up the pile inside the Composter. The tool itself can be made using seven Wooden Slabs of any kind in a U-shape.
Nether and Warped Wart Blocks are not essential components for your Minecraft adventure. But their distinct looks can make traveling the dangerous Nether realm worth it. While you’re there, don’t forget to find and mine some Netherite as well.
