One of 2024’s Best Episodic Games is Coming to Nintendo Switch

A timeline conundrum

Square Enix’s latest episodic adventure game, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, is finally coming to Nintendo Switch, and its release date is closer than you think. Initially, the studio announced it would be coming to Nintendo’s latest console. However, Square Enix didn’t establish a release date for it. Fortunately, the wait won’t be long, as players waiting to take Max’s new adventure on the go will be able to do it soon. Furthermore, there’s a physical edition coming in a few months, which you can pre-order to obtain extra goodies at certain retailers.

Nintendo Switch Animated Trailer - Life is Strange: Double Exposure

Life is Strange: Double Exposure is coming to Nintendo Switch on November 19, 2024. To commemorate the game’s launch on this platform, the studio unveiled a beautiful animated trailer. Also, if you’d rather wait for a physical edition, there’s one coming on January 28, 2025. You can pre-order it at specific retailers and some will even give you a Steelbook for it. For now, though, you can only get this episodic adventure digitally.

Originally launched on October 29, Life is Strange: Double Exposure saw the return of Max Caulfield to the series. While certain fans were unhappy about her return, most enjoyed the intriguing storyline and choice-driven narrative. Plus, most scores praised the return of the series’ first protagonist in a new setting full of mystery and endearing moments.

Also, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a proper episodic adventure game. This genre reigned the gaming landscape for a while, but it lost its footing in recent years. For that reason, it is great to see one of the franchises that put the genre at such a high return. So, if you want to jump back into the series or try it for the first time, now’s a great choice. And the best thing about it is that you can take it wherever you go.
