Every update of Genshin Impact brings a special event, and in Version 5.2, it’s Iktomi Spiritseeking Scrolls, in which players can win the sword Calamity of Eshu. In this event, the main characters are Citlali and Ororon. They want to save an NPC who got trapped in the Night Realm by getting lost during a spiritist session among other souls. So, the Travelers must dive into the spirit world with Citlali’s various rituals to fish out the NPC’s soul. Listen carefully to Citlali’s advice so as not to end up trapped in the Night Realm as well; you’ve been warned.
Genshin Impact: Iktomi Spiritseeking Scrolls Event Guide
At the beginning of the event, you must complete the primary mission; you can do it from the event menu, or the Night-Wind Letter mission will appear in your quests menu.
- Go find Ororon near the “Masters of the Night-Wind” tribe.
- Talk to Ororon and then follow the direction he indicates, where Citlali is supposed to be.
- Enter the cave and glide down to where the NPC is on a platform.
- This will trigger a cinematic where Citlali and Ororon will appear.
During the cinematic, Citlali will explain the parts of the event and the “rituals” to rescue the NPC, which are three different activities:
- Search for Lost Spirits
This activity contains several mini-games in multiplayer mode. - Evil Banisher
This is the combat activity in which each stage has specific requirements for “the ritual.” After completing the requirements, your team will get an AoE DMG buff for a while. - Restoring Fragmented Records
This activity has several stages; in each one, an image will appear, and you must replicate it with the available cutouts.
How To Obtain the Calamity of Eshu
The main reward of any flagship event is the Primogems. However, in Iktomi Spiritseeking Scrolls, Genshin Impact also includes the sword Calamity of Eshu and its Refinement Material, Shuttle of Odara. But, you need to get Incense Ashcrystals to obtain this weapon and its materials. You can earn Incense Ashcrystals by completing each stage of the different mini-games, but you require a minimum of 200 Incense Ashcrystals just to get the sword. However, with 1000 Incense Ashcrystals, you get the x5 Shuttle of Odara to refine your sword to the maximum. And you can exchange 1200 Incense Ashcrystals for the Crown.
Best Characters for Calamity of Eshu
The best swordsmen who can carry the Calamity of Eshu are those whose kit depends more on using Normal and Charged Attacks. Since this sword improves the CRIT rate and DMG of Normal and Charged Attacks. This effect is only activated when your character has a Shield. Therefore, these are the characters that best take advantage of this weapon’s skill are:
- Keqing
- Ayato
- Ayaka
- Clorinde
Even though many players created a kit with this sword and characters like Layla, it is not really recommended. Layla doesn’t rely so much on Normal and Charged Attacks. Besides, there are better swords in Genshin Impact than the Calamity of Eshu for her. Also, don’t try to add a Shielder to your team just to get the effect; several teams can adapt to this sword better. Keqing is still a good option if you don’t have the Kamisato siblings or Clorinde on your roster.
