Explore a procedurally generated world, sailing across seven different unique islands,  surviving by finding food, fuel, and materials to craft spells. There are over 120 million possible ways the islands will design themselves each time the players die, so now matter how long you play it, the game’s surroundings will still surprise you.

Be wary of the dangers that lurk throughout these punishing terrains though, as its enemies will adapt around you. As your skills increase, so does the AI. Rogue Islands unique “adaptive AI engine” tracks the player’s progression and skill, ramping the difficulty accordingly.

Alongside the unique AI system, Rogue Islands will feature a whole new technique of procedural generation has been developed that pushes boundaries. According to Keystones’ Jane Whittaker, Five-time programmer of the year award winner, the system will add considerably more detail.

“There is the opportunity to add considerably more detail to the game worlds than traditional technologies without slowing the game’s fluidity and performance. In essence, we can pump out so many more objects on screen and build worlds of great detail of beauty whilst still maximising performance, even on lower spec PC’s”, said Whittaker.”

Originally developed by Kiaran Ritchie, current principal animator at Bioware, Rogue Islands is now being finished by Keystone Games. The majority of the game’s sales will go towards helping disabled and terminally ill children.

Rogue Islands will be available world wide for £14.99 / $19.99 USD on Steam, all major download platforms and boxed distribution around the world by Keystone Publishing on September 12, 2017.
