In Path of Exile 2, there isn’t much time between your entrance into the Clearfell Encampment and your journey through Clearfell, which introduces a unique boss that can give you the upper hand when it comes to certain damage types. The first boss outside of those that the main quests take you to is Beira of the Rotten Pack. Beira is pretty similar to the Vile Hag enemies that litter the surrounding area, but luckily, she has some mechanics that are relatively easy to predict in order to defeat her.
Beira of the Rotten Pack Mechanics
Beira isn’t one of the many bosses that have phases, which makes it quite a bit easier to take her out, but she does have some mechanics that can make the fight pretty difficult if you aren’t prepared for them.
| Cue | Attack |
| Invader! Be still! | Beira of the Rotten Pack begins attacking, shooting shards of ice in your direction. This can be avoided by staying in motion for the first portion of the fight and moving side to side. |
| My pets hunger! Feed! | Beira summons several wolf minions to begin attacking. Here, you should use some AoE damage that can take out several enemies at once, as there will be at least five of them to deal with. |
| Rotten! | Beira pulls ice spikes from the ground. Each location is marked before the attack happens, so avoid the marked areas on the ground just after the cue. |
| Swell! | Beira shoots ice shards in several directions surrounding her. This can be avoided by standing in areas where there aren’t spikes between you and Beira, or stand in the center of her spikes. The spikes shoot out in four directions from her. |
With these mechanics in mind, it should be easy to defeat Beira of the Rotten Pack now. Once she’s dead, she will drop the Head of the Winter Wolf item, which when used, grants the user permanent 10% Cold Resistance.
