Out of all the announcements we got during The Game Awards, the most surprising one was that of the Okami Sequel. While the whole world welcomed the sequel with open arms, there are a few non-believers, one of those who went as far as to ask Hideki Kamiya if the Okami Sequel trailer was made with AI. As expected, the legendary developer gave his answer and publicly shamed the asker.
Hideki Kamiya Blocks Fan After Being Asked About the Okami Sequel Trailer and AI
On X, a fan asked Hideki Kamiya about the latest trailer and the use of AI. The user claimed that the internet has “given them trust issues for that sort of thing,” to which the developer answered the following:
As expected, Kamiya answered like anyone would. After showing their new work to the public and then having someone doubt them, the one who asked deserved this type of reply. Then, the X user, MidnasLament27, went on to say that they’d take the block if deemed necessary for this one, claiming they only needed “peace of mind.” It is safe to assume Kamiya blocked this user after they asked the question. Yet, we can’t confirm that.
Naturally, many other fans supported Hideki Kamiya. Everyone who saw the trailer (ourselves included) agrees it looks original and has no AI involvement. Others went as far as to claim the user was only “baiting” Kamiya. Whether they were baiting or not, one should not ask these questions, especially to developers of this caliber who have proven their work is top-notch.
Ultimately, everyone is excited about the Okami Sequel. While there isn’t a lot of information yet, it is something many weren’t expecting. The resurgence of old franchises is always a great thing, and bringing back such an iconic one like Okami is always a win for fans.
