The common thing in HoYoverse games is that they have two banner phases for each version, and each version lasts six weeks. It depends on which gacha you play if there are two or four characters divided into two phases. However, there have been notable occasions where the duration of a banner or patch for any of these gacha had an adjustment. In Zenless Zone Zero 1.4, the banners will not have two phases, but the new S-Rank Agents will arrive and leave simultaneously. Also, there will be no re-run, so this is a game-changer, at least temporarily, for the players.
Changes to HoYoverse Game Banners
The most “recent” change was with Honkai Star Rail 1.4, Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream, better known for the Aetherium Wars event. The banners at this time were Jingliu and Topaz, both with 5-Stars, and Guinaifen with 4-Star. This version had a duration of 5 weeks, one week less than the average, to adjust the filler with the main story, which was the event with the Heliobus with Huohuo and Guinaifen.
Also, on one occasion, Genshin Impact had a delay in its 2.7 Version, which caused the legendary and endless Ayaka’s banner. The reason supposedly was that the developers didn’t have an agreed date for Version 2.7, so meanwhile, they set the timer to 240 days and then changed it to “Before Version 2.6 ends”. In the end, Ayaka’s banner lasted from March 30, 2022, to May 31, 2022.
What Means the Change to Miyabi’s Banner in Zenless Zone Zero?
There is no official reason for this change. Still, we should consider that as a thank you from the developers for the tremendous support from the community; they will give Harumasa for free during Version 1.4. So, fewer players will try to get Cinemas for Harumasa and will prefer to use their pulls on Miyabi. This seems more like an ideal marketing resource due to the holidays, which are so close to this update. It will give players more time to complete events and quests or buy pulls to get Miyabi.
Also, meta-wise, Miyabi has a more significant advantage in the gameplay. Firstly, Hoshimi is an Anomaly Agent, and these are the preferred characters in games as they cause more damage to enemies, such as Yanagi, Jane, and Burnice. Second, Miyabi is the first Frost character, allowing her to simultaneously cause Disorder with an Ice Anomaly. Not to mention that Miyabi is a character many have been waiting for since the first trailers of ZZZ, in which she makes a brief appearance. We can also add that many of the gamers who were in the BETA have been waiting for her since the launch.
So, Miyabi is a character that you should try to get, and she will mark a change in gameplay terms. However, with Miyabi arriving in the game, a hard hit of power creep might come to the characters of the first banners of Zenless Zone Zero. Still, we will have to see how HoYoverse handles the balance of this Void Hunter compared to other Agents.
