Path of Exile 2 Players Claim Elon Musk is a Noob Who Pays Someone to Play His Account

Taking pay-to-win to a new level?

Path of Exile 2 is no doubt a hard game, and even a gamer like Elon Musk seems to be having problems with the ARPG, so much so, that some pundits have accused the billionaire of paying someone else to play for him. These so-called ‘boosting’ accusations are not baseless. Some Path of Exile 2 players have even compiled and documented evidence that Elon Musk doesn’t know how to play the ARPG despite his claims and his streams.

The rather meticulous compilation was brought to us by Reddit user u/InstructionOk1175. The Path of Exile 2 player and Reddit user posted a total of nine video clips– some of which were from Elon Musk’s streams. In the clips, the u/InstructionOk1175 pointed out some of the telltale signs that Elon Musk doesn’t know how to play the game.

The obvious mistakes include dragging items on the ground into the inventory, struggling to understand a full inventory, not knowing how mana and mana flasks work, and a stash tab titled “Elon’s Map” as though someone else decided to name it for the billionaire. Here’s the full post:

Suspicious Activity in Elon Musk’s Path of Exile Account

If true (though Elon Musk would likely not admit it), then such actions could be deemed as “Account Sharing” and thus warrant a ban as per developer GGG’s policies. The accusations seem to imply that either Elon Musk bought the account from another player or let several other players farm for him. Either case could be a violation of GGG’s terms of service (just like with any other online game).

Elon Musk’s Path of Exile 2 account also notably had nine well-geared endgame characters within less than two weeks after the game was launched in Early Access. No matter how good you are at Path of Exile 2, that’s just virtually impossible a task for one person, much less a busy billionaire.

Prior to the string of evidence, Elon Musk was reportedly kicked out of a Path of Exile 2 session for having a high APM (actions-per-minute). So take that as you will.

So far, the players in the aforementioned Reddit thread accusing Elon Musk of boosting seem to unanimously agree that the billionaire paid for the grind. Elon Musk has yet to respond.
