It’s not every day that you wake up and see Call of Duty devs talking to us in a blog post in a friendly manner, but Treyarch has managed to do just that! After the Jan 3 Black Ops 6 update, many of the fans were too frustrated over the new bugs that have been added to the game, alongside the sudden nerfs of some gameplay elements like the Shadow Rift in Zombies. However, Treyarch has been overseeing these complaints from the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies community, and the devs responded in an unbelievably great way.

In a post on X, Treyarch has addressed the recent changes with the updates that “nerfed fun” and have reverted them in favor of the Zombies community. If you go over the Call of Duty blog and read over the Jan 9 patch notes, you’ll see that the devs have left friendly notes under each new segment, telling us how and why they’ve changed things and how they’re fixing the issues for the sake of a better game.

Hey everyone, we’ve got a handful of Zombies updates live today. tl;dr, we are:

• Reverting changes from Jan. 3 that nerfed fun
• Giving Shadow Rift 4 new buffs
• Fixing some annoying leftover bugs
• Updating Dead Light Green Light in Weeks 2 & 3

Now, this is some next-level communication we never had from Call of Duty, and it feels like Kevin Drew, the Zombies master at Treyarch, is writing these small notes for the community. This doesn’t solve everything that’s wrong with Call of Duty right now, but it’s a very positive change that’s absolutely welcome.

Activision’s main problems have been not providing a good anti-cheat system for the players and not caring about the Black Ops 6 and Warzone servers and their issues. So while it’s good news that Treyarch is caring about the Black Ops 6 Zombies community, it leaves a bittersweet taste when we know a large portion of the Call of Duty players are still unhappy with the game’s current circumstances.

Day after day, more Call of Duty players and streamers like Nadeshot and Scump are leaving the game until it’s fixed, which creates a super negative reputation for BO6 and Warzone. With cheaters swarming the Ranked lobbies and various bugs ruining the experience, our eyes are on the Jan 28 Black Ops 6 Season 2 update to change things for good.

Amir is an absolute Call of Duty nerd, preferring shooter games more than everything. However, he does like to do uppercuts in Mortal Kombat and feel the NOS going through the engines in Need For Speed games.
