Dragon Age didn’t take long at all

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the PlayStation Plus Essential games for March 2025. Subscribers to the service will be able to claim Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection as part of the Essential tier. These titles will be available from March 4 through March 31.

All PlayStation Plus subscribers, regardless of tier—Essential, Extra, or Premium—will have access to these games during the claimable period.

  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard – PS5
  • Sonic Colors: Ultimate – PS4
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection – PS4, PS5

The inclusion of Dragon Age: The Veilguard stands out, as BioWare’s game was only released in October 2024. Despite its recent launch, publisher EA has stated that the game did not meet sales expectations. Even after rave reviews from critics, fans didn’t show as much interest in the game as the game’s predecessors.

For this month, the Essential games lineup includes Payday 3, High on Life, and Pac-Man World Re-Pac. These titles will remain available for subscribers to claim until March 3, so this is your last chance to claim them. As with all PlayStation Plus Essential games, once claimed, they will stay in the player’s library as long as their subscription remains active. If the subscription ends, access to the games will be revoked but can be restored by rejoining the service.

Sony has also announced plans to phase out PS4 games from its monthly PlayStation Plus offerings. Starting in January 2026, PS4 titles will no longer be a key part of the service, with the company shifting its focus to PS5 titles. This is pretty much what happened to the PS3, but since the PS4 and PS5 have numerous cross-generational releases, this comes as a bit of a surprise.
