Among the things that can be mildly infuriating, having your driveway blocked by another car is definitely one of them, especially when you have somewhere to go. In the case of a California resident, a Concord police officer left their car unattended, taking up the entire street and blocking the person’s driveway. The most ironic thing about this situation is that the police car was Parking Services and made for quite an entertaining post on Reddit.

“Technically, he’s not Parking Enforcement; he’s Parking Services, and this is apparently one of the services they provide,” jokes OP. “The irony though 🤦‍♀️,” remarks a commenter. “Parking services… just making sure no one else parks here, sir,” comically remarks another. Another ironic point is that OP distinctly showed that they had a “Do Not Block Driveway” sign in front of their yard. However, the police officer seemed to overlook that point, not just for their driveway but for the entire lane.

“Report them to—oh,” jested another comment, referring to how you can’t really report the police to the police. “Grab their spare ticket book and write them a ticket!” exclaimed a second. “My friends and I have gotten tickets for blocking driveways. This is definitely some BS,” complained a third. “I know they are going to give themselves a ticket 🤣🥲,” laughed a fourth. Several more commenters suggested doing unlawful things to the police car, which would likely get OP in trouble but would be funny, nonetheless.

Thankfully, the predicament was resolved without much of a hitch, as OP reports the Parking Services member moved their police car down the street. This time, they didn’t block anyone’s driveway. “I simply wanted us to all bask in the sheer irony of the situation,” remarked OP.

This wasn’t the first time California residents have had issues with the local police in Concord. Back in 2021, officers ignored an assault and refused to help a victim, to which hundreds called out their “gross misconduct” as “unprofessional and disgraceful.” Fortunately, Parking Services blocking a resident’s driveway is far less shameful than being negligent about a crime.
