Ubisoft has officially revealed details about the second story DLC for Star Wars Outlaws and confirmed the game’s release date for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The DLC, titled A Pirate’s Fortune, will launch on May 15 across all platforms, while the Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws is set to release on September 4.

The second of two planned story expansions, A Pirate’s Fortune focuses on treasure hunting and introduces players to a new adventure featuring the pirate Hondo Ohnaka. According to Ubisoft, the DLC follows Kay Vess and her companion Nix as they team up with Hondo to face off against Stinger Tash and the Rokana Raiders. Their journey takes them to the Khepi Tomb.

The DLC is included in the Star Wars Outlaws Season Pass, but can be purchased separately as well. However, players must complete the main storyline in the base game before accessing the new content. Alongside the DLC, Ubisoft will release an update that adds new cosmetic items inspired by Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Players who own the Ultimate and Deluxe Editions of the game will also receive the Naboo Nobility and Desert Nomad cosmetic packs.

In addition to the DLC announcement, Ubisoft confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Star Wars Outlaws will arrive on September 4. While the base game will be available at launch, it remains unclear whether all DLC, including A Pirate’s Fortune, will be included on the platform or if a season pass or a separate purchase will be required to access the DLC.

Ubisoft also announced the release of a new playable demo for Star Wars Outlaws. The demo, which is now available on most platforms where the game is currently sold, gives players three hours to try out the game. However, any progress made in the demo won’t be accessible if you purchase the full version of the game.

Ubisoft promised to try to alleviate concerns players had with Star Wars Outlaws, and this is a step in the right direction. The DLC and the constant stream of patches have improved the game quite a bit compared to the original, janky release. That, coupled with the success of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, shows the French developer is on track to climb out of this slump.
