Finally, here is some good news for Switch fans. After a brief delay, Nintendo has decided on a new booking date for the company’s latest console. Starting April 24, American and Canadian customers can finally secure Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders at the regular price at participating retailers. Initially set for April 9, preorders were paused as it waited to ‘assess the potential impact’ of Trump’s tariffs.

Now that new tariffs have temporarily paused, Nintendo feels safe opening up preorders for the Switch 2. Thankfully, the launch prices for the console and software are staying the same. The regular Switch 2 will still cost $449.99, while the Mario Kart World bundle sticks at $499.99. The same goes for its major first-party games: Mario Kart World is $79.99, and Donkey Kong Bananza is $69.99.

But while the console and games haven’t gone up, accessories are another story. Most have seen a $5 bump since the original announcement.

The new Pro Controller is now $84.99, Joy-Con 2 pairs are $94.99, and the camera jumped to $54.99. Even the little Joy-Con straps and AC adapter got hit by a $1 increase. It’s just a few bucks, but still noticeable if you’re picking up extras. Nintendo says price changes are due to ‘market conditions’ and warns that more changes could happen.

If everything goes as planned, the Nintendo Switch 2 launches globally on June 5. The Mario maker promises upgraded hardware, larger Joy-Cons, and a 7.9-inch LCD screen. Nintendo also teased that more first-party reveals would be forthcoming. If you’re curious about how much prices for Switch 2 accessories have shifted since the original announcement, check out the list below:
