Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have seemingly had the perfect courtship and fairytale wedding. However, before the youngest son of King Charles met the Hollywood actress, he was nearly set up with a member of reality TV’s royal family, Kourtney Kardashian. Comedian Katherine Ryan says that she wanted to set up Harry and Kourtney before the two eventually moved on with the likes of Meghan and Travis Barker.
In an interview with Hello! Magazine, Katherine Ryan says that when Kourtney Kardashian was having issues with her longtime boyfriend and baby daddy, Scott Disick, she encouraged the Poosh founder to leave the relationship. She also revealed that she wanted to set her up with someone new and exciting, and suggested Prince Harry. It all started in 2016 when Ryan attended a party in London and walked in to find Kardashian with The Duke of Sussex’s cousin, Princess Beatrice.
“I walked in and saw Kourtney Kardashian with Princess Beatrice,” Ryan said. “I went straight over to her because I knew who she was. I’m so invested in the Kardashians and their reality show.”
Katharine says she marched up to Kourtney and told then mother-of-three that she needed to leave Scott in the dust. However, Kardashian said that it wasn’t that easy as Disick still lived in her home.
Kourtney Kardashian Was Nearly Set Up With Prince Harry
“I told her, ‘Don’t go back to the house. You need to leave him,’” Ryan continued. When Kardashian asked the comedian who she should date instead, she suggested Beatrice’s beloved cousin, Harry.
“She was right there in the UK. It seemed obvious,” Katherine said of a possible Kourtney and Harry hookup.
Of course, the relationship never happened. Instead, Prince Harry met Meghan Markle that same summer and never looked back. The two began dating and eventually tied the knot in 2018. For her part, Kourtney and Scott did split up. They worked on their co-parenting relationship, and Kardashian moved on with her life. She eventually turned her close friendship with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker into a scorching romance.
Kardashian and Barker got married in Italy in 2022. The following year, they welcomed their first child together, son Rocky Thirteen Barker. They are currently raising their blended family together, and appear to be happier than ever.
It’s crazy to think that Prince Harry may have been close to dating Kourtney Kardashian. Although the romance would have made for a major media firestorm, it seems that both parties eventually found the love of their lives.
