  • Metaphor: ReFantazio Lands on Xbox Game Pass on May 29
  • A Varied End-of-the-Month Lineup

When you thought you had seen the month’s full lineup, Xbox Game Pass decided to surprise us by saving the best for last. This month has already been varied enough with everyone’s most anticipated next DOOM entry, a few simulator games, superb co-op titles, and more. However, the greatest RPG of 2024 is joining the catalog in the coming days. That’s right, Metaphor: ReFantazio will land on Xbox Game Pass. If you didn’t have the chance to play this when it launched and are looking for an excellent JRPG to sink 100 hours in (playtime may vary), you’re in for a treat.

Xbox Game Pass unveiled the rest of its lineup for May, and while there are many titles coming, the big takeaway is Metaphor: ReFantazio. For the unaware, it took the Best RPG award last year and rightfully so. It is an excellent take on the modern Persona formula set in a gorgeous fantasy world and featuring one of the best narratives Atlus has. On top of that, it adds many features that freshen up the turn-based combat formula. You can skip a few fights by solving them in the overworld, and there are even some formation mechanics during a fight. There’s also an in-depth class system with dozens to unlock and use. Overall, it’s an excellent experience for new and old fans of the genre.

A Varied End-of-the-Month Lineup

If you’re not a fan of JRPGs, though, there are nine other games you can try apart from Metaphor: ReFantazio on Xbox Game Pass. For starters, The Division 2 will land on May 27, just two days before the aforementioned RPG. This game is still standing strong and will kick off its Year 7, Season 1 the day it launches on Game Pass. If you have never played this game, now’s the perfect time to join it, as it has a lot of content alongside some terrific DLC.

Aside from those two bangers, here’s the full list of game releases for the remainder of the month:

  • Monster Train 2 (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) โ€“ May 21+
  • Creatures of Ava (Xbox Series X|S) โ€“ May 22
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 (Xbox Series X|S) โ€“ May 22
  • Tales of Kenzera: Zau (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) EA Play โ€“ May 22
  • To a T (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) โ€“ May 28
  • Spray Paint Simulator (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) โ€“ May 29
  • Crypt Custodian (Cloud, Console, and PC) โ€“ June 3
  • Symphonia (Cloud, Console, and PC) โ€“ June 3
