San Diego Grease-Crazed Vandal Targets Dozens of Cars: ‘Miserable and Sadistic’

People have a lot of free time.

There are a lot of ways to vandalize someone’s car. Some would choose to key it, others would paint over it. You might even find people covering it with paper towels. Well, now there is a new way to vandalize cars. A vandal in San Diego decided to use grease on dozens of cars for no apparent reason. One of the victims shared what happened on Reddit along with a picture of his car. According to him, he was heading to his car in the morning when he found that the windows on the driver’s side were coated in grease. The front of the windshield was the same. The car owner wasn’t exactly lucky because he was used to leaving his window open. This made the guy who did this spray grease on the inside of the car as well.

For a moment, you might think that the San Diego man upset someone and therefore was targeted like this. It would have been a petty revenge, but this wasn’t the case. Apparently, all the cars in the area were vandalized in the same way. The grease was everywhere, which made it difficult for the victim to drive as well. All of this made him write, “Whoever did this is a miserable and sadistic person.” His only option was to ask the San Diego community if they had any explanation for why this happened. I’m sure others were thankful that they weren’t parking on the same street.

People Reacting to the San Diego Grease Attack

Several people took the matter seriously, while others found a funny side to the San Diego vandalism. “Schoooooool’s out for summmmmer,” one person wrote. Another one joked by telling OP, “Were you crunching loudly? Maybe you crunched your meal so loudly that an offended person had little choice but to punish the entire street of cars. Since this is Reddit, I am trying to contrive a scenario in which this is somehow your fault.” Someone else ignored the entire situation and decided to ask, “Are this rubber ducks bought or earned?” If you want to know the answer, they were earned.

On the other side, some tried to be serious and explain what happened. “Did the spray look like a straight line at a specific height? If so it could’ve come from a truck that has a transmission line at that height. It could be spraying as it drives without realizing,” one person wondered. This made the victim confirm that the grease was sprayed by a San Diego man. “I checked my dashcam footage and it was most definitely a person. It was too dark to see their face so the footage was useless. Happened around 3am,” they answered.

Another offered a different explanation by saying, “Was it trash day? Could have been a hydraulic line from a trash truck.” This wasn’t the answer, either, since OP wrote, “It is trash day but they don’t come until later this happened around 3am.” I think it was actually done on purpose. My questions are why would someone do this, and why did they choose grease? This is something I will wonder about for a while.
