One would hope that people actually like to share in others’ joy. Surely, if you see someone happy, why aren’t you happy for them, right? Unfortunately, a Maryland Karen filmed recently didn’t share that same opinion. Imagine you are taking your wedding’s photo session, not annoying anyone, only for someone to come and try to ruin the day. This is exactly what happened when a Black couple were enjoying their day in a park, only for a Karen to come and spoil the mood.

A video shared by the couple’s professional photographer shows how a Karen called the police on them during their wedding shoot. They were filming in a park, and she probably thought that they weren’t allowed to do so. Even if this were the case, why can’t you just ignore them? Luckily, she didn’t win this time because the husband and wife had a permit to film there. You can see the groom going to the police officer with his phone to show him the permit. The officer then takes pictures of the permit before heading off. The second-best part after embarrassing the Maryland Karen is that you get to see the beautiful pictures they took.
People Reacting to the Maryland Karen’s Behavior
Almost no one agreed with what the Maryland Karen did. Several people started calling her a racist, which is reasonable since she called the cops on a Black couple. This made people claim that she wouldn’t have done the same if it were a White couple. “Imagine being so miserable that you call the police on other people taking wedding photos…..,” one person wrote. Someone also came after the Karen’s skin color as they said, “Calling the cops on someone doing an engagement….. yt ppl never mind their fkn business.” Another person shared a similar opinion by saying, “Taking photos while Black. Can’t even do that.”
You get to see the other side’s POV as a White person described the situation as racist. “I already know why they [Karen] did this,” they wrote, “Keep y’all’s joy no matter how many times pale people try to take it from you because that is what irks them the most. I’m sorry you have to deal with this.” Aside from talks about racism and coming after the Maryland Karen, there were a lot of people who wondered why police are even responding to such calls. I mean if someone is calling you because they want to ruin a couple’s photoshoot, this is really not worth the effort. To some, the Karen should have been arrested for wasting the police’s time. While she wasn’t arrested, she was at least embarrassed that they did, in fact, have a permit.
