Florida Woman Arrested for Impersonating Nurse: ‘This is on the Hospital!’

Why would she put people in danger

While it is very easy to lie on your resume to secure a cushy office job, I would imagine it’s more difficult to do if you’re pursuing a career in the medical field. However, a Florida woman managed to prove me wrong and take a nursing license that belonged to someone else in order to practice the profession. What’s even crazier is that she’s being accused of having done this while actively working at a hospital in the Flagler County area. Hopefully, we never have to worry about her working in a hospital ever again.

A Florida woman accused of posing as a nurse and providing care to over 4,400 unsuspecting patients without a valid nursing license has been arrested. Authorities claim Autumn Bardisa used someone else’s nursing license number. #VictorOquendo has more. #WorldNewsTonight #WNT #DavidMuir #News #ABCNews

Florida woman Autumn Bardisa was arrested while inside her parked vehicle, out in the driveway of her home, for practicing nursing at an Advent Health facility between June 2024 and January 2025. After allegedly being offered a promotion to a higher position by her superiors, she was unable to verify her identification, which prompted an investigation into her character. It appears that the license number that she used had her same first name, but a different last name. Bardisa claims to have recently gotten married, resulting in a name change. However, when asked to provide a marriage certificate, she could not.

While working for the hospital, it’s estimated that she treated thousands of patients and performed procedures such as taking blood and administering IVs. While these are relatively routine procedures, things could have gone very wrong if she had been put in a position in which she didn’t know how to respond. She’s lucky that no one was severely injured as a result of her actions. However, this is also on the hospital that had her employed while she did this.

Commenters on the above video agree, with one person even saying, “This is on the hospital!!! They should be checking her license.” I agree, especially if there is a minor discrepancy such as a name change. It really only takes a quick check to ensure that all the information is correct.

With the seven-month investigation now at its close, I’m sure those who recognize Bardisa as a nurse who had treated them now breathe a sigh of relief. No one will need to worry about her impersonating another medical professional again, and I await what her charges are and what her sentence will be.
