Unfortunately for this Washington DC woman, she had the terrible experience of dealing with an unreasonable landlord in the most shocking way.
In the video, you can see her speaking with a man who is reportedly the manager of the building she lives in. They were arguing about tenant association rights. According to the Washington DC woman, the tenants in the building were trying to form an association. To spread the word, they made posters and put them up on the walls to inform their neighbors. However, someone took the posters down.
Suspecting the manager was responsible, the woman decided to confront him. She stated that taking down the posters was illegal. The conversation quickly escalated when the man responded that she had already emailed him those same words. The woman acknowledged that, but said she wanted to emphasize the point further by having the discussion in person.
Tension rose as the two began talking over each other. At one point, the woman called the man by name and even addressed the camera, saying that he was a very unpleasant person. She didn’t get to finish her sentence. Without warning, the landlord decided that was enough and pepper sprayed the woman directly in the face. The Washington DC woman screamed in pain and shouted that she would call the police.
It’s unclear whether the police were called or if the situation escalated further. However, the video quickly went viral on social media, with many Redditors sharing and reacting to the clip. Users expressed shock at the landlord’s actions, struggling to understand why he would pepper spray the woman so suddenly, especially since it could easily be considered an act of violence.
