California Customer Finds Mold in Brownies and Company Blocks Him Refusing Accountability: ‘Well, Their Company Is Over’

They could have just apologized

You would think that when you buy some food, it would be safe to eat. After all, this is why you would spend money in the first place. Well, a California customer had a terrible experience with a company called Swole Sweets after he ordered protein brownies from them. The customer is used to doing reviews online and when he posted his review of the brownies, several people pointed out that all the brownies had mold in them. He didn’t notice this because he is colorblind. He did point out that he got sick after eating the brownies, so there was, in fact, mold. Like any person would do, he reached out to the company to seek clarification or any excuse. Instead of apologizing or even offering a refund, they told him to delete the post. Insane.

I thought the worst part was eating mold… turns out it wasn’t. 🤢 Ranting about Swole Sweets… @Swolesweetsllc #rant #sick #protein #badbusiness #venting

The California company did come up with a lame excuse as they claimed that the mold people saw was just sprinkles. Anyone would be able to tell the difference. It was definitely mold. It also turned out that the company had a lot of drama behind it. A lot of people reached out to the customer and informed him that they also had a terrible experience with the shop. Others claimed that they buy their followers. Imagine paying over $100 for brownies and then having to throw them away because they had mold in them. What’s even crazier is that the company doesn’t automatically provide ice packs. You have to pay for them individually. This company is definitely horrible at dealing with issues because things kept getting worse.

In another video, the California customer shared that Swole Sweets blocked him on Instagram. That’s more than immature. They also disabled comments on their social media accounts. If you did nothing wrong then you shouldn’t be afraid of what people have to say. To make matters worse, they posted a response and it was very clear that they used ChatGPT to write it. Their response had several mistakes as they claimed that the guy never had any issues with their products in the past. How is that even possible when this was his first time trying them? They then claimed that he is responsible for how the brownies arrived because of the shipping method he chose. So they were blaming him for not paying $50 so the order would arrive faster.

If you thought that their response couldn’t get any worse, it does. Throughout the response, they kept trying to avoid taking accountability. After blaming the customer for his choice of shipping method, they blamed him for not including ice packs. So he was supposed to pay $5 for an ice pack along with his $100 order? Why did they even start a company if they would behave like this? There was another customer who told the guy they they ordered from the company before and added ice packs. Guess what? The order was still terrible when it arrived because the ice packs did nothing. At the end of their response, they say that they told him to delete the post because he was claiming that there was mold. Everyone could see that there was, in fact, mold. It’s not just a claim.

People Reacting to the California Customer Finding Mold in His Order

Absolutely no one defended the California company. Everyone could see how horrible they are, especially with the way they responded. This made one person say, “well their company is over.” That’s probably true. Another person found the company’s responses to be quite immature. “is a teenager running their account what?” they wondered. Since Swole Sweets claimed that there was no mold at all, a lot of people confirmed that the customer was right. “I work at a bakery and those green dots with the little white hairs around that is 300% mold We see them all the time,” someone said. Another person commented on them asking the guy to delete the post. “‘erase the post dude’ like what??” they asked in disbelief. It’s fair that one person said, “bruh what a weird company…”

Other people kept joking about the company’s response as one person wrote, “Paid $100 to eat mold with a side of gaslight.” Gaslighting is expensive these days. Another person also commented on the company’s response, as they said, “Not the chat gpt response.” Anyone could tell that this was written by ChatGPT. That’s just more embarrassing for them. People also found it crazy that the company doesn’t already include ice packs, especially since the brownies are expensive. “The fact ice packs aren’t automatically included is wild,” one person wrote. Someone else said, “If they’re going to be shipping perishable items then the ice packs should be standard and not an up charge. They don’t care about food safety clearly.” This is what anyone would expect. At least the California customer wasn’t hospitalized so there is a good side.
