A woman went on an erratic meltdown at an airport in Florida, assaulting a ticket agent and destroying property, and may now be facing the consequences of her actions. A bystander at the airport filmed the scene and shared it on TikTok. The footage opens with the angry passenger kicking a male ticket attendant while yelling at him. “Three weeks, three weeks for my money right?” the customer ranted before smashing the monitor on the counter with her phone.
She repeatedly struck the computer while pouring out her frustrations at the attendant, who tried to avoid her. “Two flights wasted, two flights, three planes, after 45 minutes!” the customer complained bitterly.
When other passengers witnessing the incident urged the airport officials to inform law enforcement of the situation, the irritated woman agreed, stating she told the attendants to “call the police.”
She reiterated her stance, saying, “I have my rights, so that’s what I want, the police.” Another customer in the waiting area said something inaudible, but it appeared to have triggered the lady further. She shot back at the onlooker, “Yeah, it’s not your brother that you need to go disconnected.”
Before the clip cuts off, the woman is seen returning to the counter and hitting another monitor. Although the clip doesn’t show whether the authorities detained the woman, the caption indicated what the woman’s actions earned her. “First class ticket to the no fly list!” the caption read.
As expected, netizens came out in numbers reacting to the video. One social media user mocked, “Hope she likes road trips!” A second person attempted to give context to what sparked the customer’s violent outburst.
The user wrote, “sounds like her brother died and she’s trying to make it to the funeral? Well, she’ll be spending a night in jail instead smh.”
Another TikTok user sympathized with the lady, writing, “It sounds like her brother just died and now she’s going to miss his funeral. I can totally understand that she just has a major meltdown, and I can definitely empathize with that.”
This other netizen echoed a similar sentiment that the woman’s outburst was from a place of pain. The user remarked, “Her behavior was not an excuse, but she’s obviously hurting. She said, ‘It’s not your brother dying, it’s not your brother being disconnected.’”
A fifth observer shifted the blame towards the airline, writing, “I think people have just had enough of the airlines.”
As of writing, it is unclear whether the woman faces any formal charges.
