Disneyland has been known to value different traditions since its opening back in 1955. One of these many traditions involves honoring those who have dedicated their lives or a vast majority of their time to making dreams come true. After the death of a beloved guest who frequented Disneyland in Anaheim, California, that same tradition is being carried out by various anonymous parkgoers. It just goes to show that whether you’re a well-known icon or a silent observer, some people will always take the time to notice you.

Unofficial Memorials are being made daily on Main Street USA in Disneyland for Frank IG @porch__potato. For the last 20 years, Frank went to Disneyland almost every day and sat on the porch facade there to enjoy his morning coffee. He was a constant and friendly presence on Main Street. Frank passed away on Saturday August 9th. He would have been 80 today. RIP Frank.

Beloved Disneyland guest, Frank, better known by his Instagram handle, @porch__potato, has been a staple of the park for the better part of 20 years. What was his involvement, you ask? He sat at the porch facade located at the park nearly every morning to enjoy his coffee while guests piled into Main Street. While such an unusual gesture, parkgoers noted his attendance more and more, eventually turning him into an icon.

Unfortunately, Frank passed away on August 9, though his 80th birthday would have been today, August 20, 2025. Disneyland guests made sure to honor their coffee-drinking friend by creating a memorial on Main Street that included different items special to Frank. In fact, according to the video above, it looks as though the particular bench where the memorial was is blocked to the public.

Some of the items placed at the memorial include a blue Los Angeles hat, flowers, a rubber duck, and even a coffee. It’s clear that even though he is no longer going to be greeting Disneyland guests on Main Street, he will always be remembered.

Various commenters took to the replies to leave their condolences and memories of Frank. One person said, “I remember going up to him one day at my first time to Disney and asking him, are you part of the attraction? And he smiled and said โ€œit depends who you askโ€ ๐Ÿ™ rip buddy.” It’s clear he was very beloved and will be dearly missed.
