Minnesota Cleaning Lady Warns Others That Homeaglow Company Preys on the Elderly in PSA, ‘She’s an Angel for Letting You Know’

Thank goodness for that honest cleaning lady

Wanting the best for your loved ones isn’t a big ask. Even if it means helping them clean up around their home or work in their garden, the little things can make a big difference. This is why a Minnesota woman thought hiring a cleaning company to assist her mom would be a great idea. It would help her have a little more time to herself, right? But she didn’t expect to find out what she did about the company, from one of their own workers nonetheless.

NEVER book a “Home a Glow” House Cleaning. LIKE EVER. I can’t even describe how frustrated I am right now & how MESSED UP THIS IS. #homeaglow #fraud #watchout #housecleaning #minnesota

Cass (@cassie.meschke) posted a TikTok video warning people about the “Homeaglow” company in Minnesota. In the video, she explains that she booked a cleaning lady to clean her mom’s house just one time through Homeaglow. She figured it would be a once-and-done thing to help her out a little. However, when the cleaning lady was done with everything, she shared some disheartening news with Cass. She told her that she is now locked into a contract. This was never even mentioned to Cass previously.

Cass looked at the fine print for everything she signed and agreed to and found that Homeaglow is not upfront about this contract. She said, “It’s so messed up and awful” that they do this. Cass found out that she’s now on a 13-month contract for $59.99 a month where a cleaner comes in every month even though she never wanted that. She only wanted them to come once, pay them, and call it a done deal. Cass explained that the company never said “anything about signing up for a subscription.”

The cleaning lady, bless her soul, gave Cass some good advice. She spoke out against Homeaglow herself, even as an employee, and said that they “prey on the elderly.” She said that the only way you can really avoid the subscription is by cancelling your card through the company. This is apparently the only way to “guarantee that nothing is going to slip through” and you won’t lose out on any money. The cleaning lady told Cass that this is how they take advantage of elderly people. She said most elderly people don’t know how the program works. Therefore, they’ll never cancel. They’ll just be charged over and over again.

The cleaning lady told a customer that Homeaglow works as a “silent partner in your bank account.” It’s scary that companies can actually get away with this. It’s not like a subscription service where you know that you’re signing up to receive a service on a monthly basis. You choose this, but Homeaglow forces it onto you and basically takes money behind your back. In 13 months, that’s over $700 that you’ll be paying Homeaglow – and you might not even know it.

One commenter pointed out that the cleaning lady was so real for telling Cass about the subscription service. However, she was worried for the cleaning lady’s well-being. She said, “I really hope you didn’t cost her her job by posting this. She’s an angel for letting you know, but I fear she’s at risk as a contractor.” Another stated, “This woman is so real for telling you because she’s helping people not fall victim.” It’s sad because financial abuse of the elderly is a very real problem. With so many scams going around, it’s easy to worry about your elderly loved ones and ensure that they’re never affected. It’s important to watch out for companies who casually do things like this without batting an eye.
