Minnesota Man Breaks Tooth on Chunk of Wood in Larabar: ‘That’s Why They Called It Banana Chocolate CHIP’

At least it’s still plant based

Protein and fiber-packed meal bars are a great snack if you’re one to watch your health, but one Minnesota man found out that his all-natural Larabar was a little bit too “plant-based.” “I just cracked my tooth on a piece of wood in a Larabar,” he says, posting a photo of a sizeable chunk of wood inside of his Banana Chocolate Chip bar. Now, the wrapping does claim to have “Just 4 Real Ingredients,” but no one could have expected wood to be one of them.

With dental work being so expensive in the States, Larabar had better compensate for any bills the man has to pay to repair his broken tooth. Multiple people in the man’s r/mildlyinfuriating post encourage him to take them to court if they fail to offer financial aid for his dental care. But so many more found the story to be more humorous than infuriating.

“Chipped a tooth? Of course you did! That’s why they called it Banana Chocolate CHIP,” jokes a commenter. “At least it’s still plant-based. Now we know where the fiber comes from,” remarks another. Despite the myriad of jokes and puns in the post’s comment section, OP does seem to be taking the humor well.

“Yeah, the asterisk next to ‘fiber’ must contain the warning about the wood chips,” the Minnesota man laughs in a reply. “Was that one of the 4 real ingredients?” a user asks sarcastically. “[It’s] All natural, no additives,” chimes in another. Jokes aside, several people shared their horror stories of having dental work done because of a company’s improperly processed food item.

For instance, one person had broken a tooth after biting into an unpitted olive served to them. Another person had an airline pay them $3,000 to compensate for having their front tooth chipped from a brownie. That said, hopefully, Larabar is prepared to repay this customer for the dental damage.
