When everyone thought all hope was lost for Prince Harry to meet with his father King Charles while back in London, the Sussexes’ dream has finally come true. The royal monarch had a private meeting with his youngest son, during which the Prince allegedly “presents his demands” to Charles. It’s likely he followed up with what he said in his private letter to the King prior to the meeting. Being able to see his father is a huge win for Harry, and the one person who’s just as elated is the self-proclaimed Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
Meghan was “thoroughly delighted” to hear her husband reuniting with the King, according to journalist Neil Sean. She had been on a downward spiral for so long with her flop of a Netflix series and failing brand. There had been so little going for her that fans began to anticipate that she’d do a clothing drop sooner or later to save As Ever. Even a short and cute video of the Beckhams making homemade jam was enough for people to immediately make comparisons to Meghan, giving followers another reason to mock her endeavors. But now, Sean claims “she thinks she’s back in the game,” now that King Charles has personally been able to hear out her proposals via her proxy spokesperson and husband, Prince Harry.
What this entails for the future of With Love, Meghan or As Ever is still in development, as only time will tell if a brief tea break with the King is enough to save her hide from a complete failure. After all, amid all the heavy backlash and criticism, she has been staying afloat, albeit in stormy waters. Still, just because either Harry or Meghan gains favor with the Royal Family doesn’t mean all their problems will suddenly disappear, nor will their past mistakes be erased. The best that could come about from this meeting between father and son is that they finally make amends. However, with Harry aiming to place utmost importance on his demands, many believe reconciliation is not to be the case.
“Of course Harry made demands, it’s what Harry does. Doesn’t mean KC will acquiesce to them. He would be a fool to,” remarks an online user. “The meeting with the king will not erase Meghan’s failure. She needs the public to support her and we will not,” added another. Some people think that this meeting could actually hurt King Charles’ reputation for meeting with his traitorous son. In the end, though, we can’t forget that Charles is still Harry’s father, and a caring father always wants to see his children thrive. It’s just the whole giving in to demands that many believe won’t happen between the two.
