While Prince Harry triumphantly returns after his pseudo-royal trip to the UK and Ukraine, his wife Meghan Markle still seems to be in a pickle with her brand and show. Not like things weren’t already not going her way before, but now, it appears Netflix has finally put the nail in the coffin for With Love, Meghan. While rumors suggest that Meghan’s upcoming Christmas special has already been filmed, any promotion and publicity related to it will now be shifted to the show of a more promising candidate, Victoria Beckham.
For years, the Beckhams have been at odds with the Sussexes. Yet, it’s not like there’s much competition going on between the two, seeing how the grand majority always favors and supports David and Victoria Beckham over Harry and Markle any day. A recent example is the alleged jab David took at Markle’s jam with his own homemade tutorial. That being said, Netflix is having its turn with a jab at Markle by “pulling all the budget” from her show’s Christmas special, according to royal gossip journalist Neil Sean.
Netflix Finally Gives on Meghan Markle’s Show
The said budget is now being reportedly transferred to Victoria Beckham’s new show and its related advertising “with Netflix’s full support.” Whether people will flock to the streaming platform to watch Victoria has yet to be seen, but there’s no doubt that it will be better received than anything Meghan has come up with over the two seasons of With Love, Meghan. She’s clearly been devastated that her show and brand aren’t working out, so much so that she’s allegedly become delirious with claims that Taylor Swift and a Hollywood conspiracy are out for her neck. Victoria might be in on it, too, for all she knows.
Regardless, Netflix’s support of Meghan Markle in the first place has not been very well received by the public, so the shift from the Sussexes to the Beckhams would be a good call for its reputation. “Markle dumped for Victoria Beckham is a lovely kind of karma,” happily exclaims a Reddit user. “We can rest easy that Netflix finally SPARE’d the world another minute of Meghan’s slop,” quips another, pointing out how this Netflix budget cut explains the “liquidation sale with the $50 credit at her As Ever shop.”
If Neil Sean’s word is to be believed, this is truly a long time coming for Meghan. From Salmonella in her food to the excessive use of flower sprinkles on literally every dish, people were already quite done with With Love, Meghan and have been ready to move on to something better for a while. Let’s hope that Victoria Beckham doesn’t disappoint.
