A Border Patrol officer took driving his point home a bit more seriously, as he went two miles away in New York to make his point clear to a Canadian. A video posted on Reddit showed the Canadian and the patrol officer in their respective vehicles during the chase. “Honked at my Ontario plate” read the caption of the video, reflecting the Canadian’s perspective.
At one point, the Canadian tried to increase his speed, but the Border Patrol officer quickly caught up. With his head popped out of the window, he exclaimed, “Never come to the US again!” Once the officer noticed he was being recorded, he grew shy, stopped talking, and tried to drive away. However, the video captured his plate number, which read, “New York Plate HJT 4367.”
At the end of the video, a map provided further details, showing that the border patrol officer worked at Lewiston Bridge Port of Entry and drove for over three minutes to chase the Canadian. The video wasted no time sparking reactions from Canadians and Americans who were appalled by the officer’s conduct. “MAGA are hateful creeps that want everyone they don’t agree with dead,” someone commented.
Another person addressed fellow Canadians, writing, “To all my Canadian peeps, from a very anti-MAGA American: Hi. Um… we have some stuff going on at the minute. I love you guys, I don’t want to see you going through all this crap, but, uhh… Maybe hit pause on coming to the US until we get things straightened up a bit? It’s not you, it’s us. Nothing but love for y’all.”
One commenter criticized both sides, saying, “Canadian camping in the passing lane being an idiot. American MAG attacks his nationality rather than the stupidity, resulting in what could have been a valid crashout into an unhinged attack on Canada.” Another blasted American culture, writing, “Would you look at that, another shining example of Americana right there. Why the hell would I want to go to a country with officials like that?”
Another person added, “This guy will likely end up with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I hate this timeline.” Someone else pointed out the audacity: “Wow. If a border officer does that in broad daylight, showing his face and plates, imagine what the incognito ICE agents are doing and getting away with.”
A furious comment read, “Another fascist a**hole working in our government. Damn, I can’t wait for all these a**holes to be arrested and tried for their crimes.” The Department of U.S. Customs and Border Protection has yet to address the video and release details of the officer.
