Ohio Woman’s Dog Proudly Brings Opossum to Her Bed And Left Her Horrified: ‘I’ve Slept in Bed With a Lot Worse’

It looked so peaceful

It’s normal for dogs to bring their owners stuff from time to time. Fortunate owners have dogs bring them a blankets or some toy. Or you might be unlucky like this Ohio woman who woke up to a less than savory gift from hers. It turned out that her dog went out and brought an opossum to her bed at 5am.

Yeah, gross, she was sleeping next to an opossum for four hours. When she showed the animal, you could easily see how dirty her pillow looked like all thanks to it. It did look peaceful, though, especially since it wasn’t taking a lot of space. The animal might have been terrified as well since he suddenly found himself brought into a foreign territory.

The Ohio woman was definitely not a fan of her dog’s gift. She shared in another video how she called the police to ask them what to do. They helped and told her to call “the conservation people.” The latter then told her that she could take the opossum outside if it wasn’t hurt or nursing. So she ended up wearing some gloves and taking it outside. In another update, the poor woman showed how she put the animal outside her gate. It looked like it was hurt since it didn’t run away, but then someone explained that opossums enter a state of shock when stressed where they get temporarily paralyzed. This turned out to be true since the woman went back later and didn’t find the opossum. It is probably a memory she will never forget. Hopefully, her dog won’t bring her any more similar surprises.

People Reacting to the Ohio Woman’s Video

Not everyone was terrified like she was. A lot of people believed that it wasn’t a bad thing that she found an opossum in her bed. One woman even wrote, “I’ve slept in bed with a lot worse.” Others found the entire situation funny, especially since it didn’t happen to them. “The fact that is cozied up and stayed in bed with a human and a dog is sending me,” one person wrote. Another person then said, “The dirt on the pillow makes it funnier.” Some people also believed that the woman was lucky that her dog brought in an opossum instead of something else. “Well, you’re lucky that she brought in one of the friendliest creatures of the forest and not some crazy [expletive] raccoon ,squirrel ,rat , skunk,” someone wrote. They have got a point. At least it looked cute.

Aside from finding what happened to the Ohio woman to be funny, some people actually wished that this had happened to them. They wanted her to keep the opossum with her as well. “Well he’s comfy now, so happy adoption day,” one person wrote. Another person asked the woman to keep it as they said, “I love the little dirt aura it left on your pillow. Please keep it, I’m so jealous‼” Someone else asked, “Well what are we naming him? He looks like a Sammy.” I’m not sure that the Ohio woman was as excited as they were. At least there was one woman who actually shared the dog owner’s feelings. “The death I would have died,” she wrote. Honestly, it could have been a lot worse. The good thing is that she wasn’t harmed in any way.
