Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who can’t accept other people’s opinions and beliefs. This could lead to violence and vandalism sometimes, too. A woman in Washington had been getting harassed by her neighbors for over two years because of her beliefs. This harassment increases when it’s Halloween. It even reached the point where people vandalized her house during Halloween because of her decorations, which include headstones and the rainbow flag.
Now, it’s not just adults who are bothering her. A young group of girls decided to harass the woman as well, just because of her Halloween decorations. They went up to her house and started talking to her Ring camera without having any shame at all. One of them started saying, “Jesus loves you. Read the Bible. Stop celebrating Halloween.”
“Turn away from your sins,” one said. They also didn’t like that she had the rainbow flag as part of her decorations. According to them, it is “wrong.” Their harassment also included them saying, “Jesus loves you but he hates the things that you do.” One of the decorations that they disliked as well was a wreath on the woman’s door that had a Baphomet skull. They wanted her to take off that “ugly rat.” They also mentioned something about Satan. Imagine doing all of this just because someone decided to celebrate Halloween and put up decorations. The woman’s sister shared that she filed a police report after this harassment. It is just unfortunate that kids believe it’s okay to do something like this.
People Reacting to the Young Washington Girls
Most people disagreed with what the young Washington girls did just because their neighbor had Halloween decorations. Their young age made one person find it scary that they would go knocking on people’s doors like this. “That’s actually so scary that those girls are willing to knock on random strangers homes in this political climate…….,” they wrote. This made one person reply and say, “It’s a risk. Let’s see how it plays out for them.” Someone else was upset that kids are filled with this kind of hate, as they said, “This actually makes me so sad. I can’t believe people have children just to fill them with hatred.” Even if they don’t want to celebrate Halloween, it should never be okay to do what they did.
Others believed that the Washington girls would end up celebrating Halloween in the future. “‘Stop celebrating Halloween’ and in three years they will be dressing up as the Lorax,” one person wrote. That would be better than annoying people. Before people knew that the woman filed a police report, someone wrote, “Trespass them. Have an officer ask them not to return. If they continue to return, ask that they be criminally trespassed.” That would be enough to teach the girls that there is something called consequences. One woman was also upset as she said, “Look I don’t play about my property. You will respect my property. Call the police don’t wait, because it will set a tone. And the HOA should also be contacting the homeowners/parents. They are old enough to know better‼‼” Hopefully, these girls would leave their neighbor alone instead of harassing her and her family.
