Oregon Woman Says Trump’s Voting Base Isn’t Going to Be Happy When SNAP Benefits End, ‘Trying to Get People to Understand What Trump is Doing is Exhausting’

Many individuals who cast their vote for Trump have been in for some big surprises. From struggling economically in their own households to businesses going under, there are plenty of reasons why people wish they could take back that vote. Now, an Oregon woman says that Trump voters on SNAP and other government assistance are going to be in for a real surprise. When they lose their benefits due to the government shutdown, she wonders what they’ll do and how they’ll feel about their own government.

Dani (@nanidani2.0) starts her TikTok video off by explaining that her husband works for a large plumbing/contracting business. She said that the “majority of men” on his crew have SNAP, daycare assistance, and healthcare assistance. Dani said that her husband believes the things that Trump and Fox News says and that she had to “un-propagandize” him and give him the facts. She told him that Oregon won’t be distributing any benefits to Oregon individuals because the federal government is in charge of that. With the government shutdown happening, people just won’t eat.

Dani said that her husband’s entire work crew is going to be “flailing” because they can’t survive without their benefits. One of the workers is supporting his entire family of seven with his job and said he “couldn’t do it” without his SNAP benefits. She goes on to say that he “voted for Donald Trump.” Now, he’s just going to be paying the price for that. Dani said that this worker, and others like him, won’t be able to afford groceries. She also said that she’s in disbelief that so many of these workers are virtually unaware of what’s going on. They think their government is going to pull through for their families and it never does.

At the end of her video, Dani says this has “always been the plan” for the republicans. Now, people aren’t going to know where they can turn for help if the shutdown continues. As one commenter stated, “This is insane. The MAGAs that get food stamps will find out… I get food stamps, but I am not MAGA. Trying to get people to understand what Trump is doing is exhausting.” Another commenter said, “They’ll blame Democrats. It still won’t click for them.” That’s probably true. You can always hope that, the next time around, people will be intelligent with their votes. But the same things keep happening again and again and it’s poor people who suffer.
