It’s scary to be a woman in this world. Unfortunately, it seems that no matter where you go, women need to be extra careful about their surroundings and even about how they dress. One woman from Minnesota posted to TikTok about how women need to be cautious on dating websites, as she ran into someone with a litany of sexual assault charges against him. What’s even worse about this man is that he is expecting to run for Governor of Minnesota in the upcoming election. You can’t make this stuff up.

The above video was posted to TikTok by @_simply._.complex_, whose real name is Rachel. She tends to post a lot of content about both herself and current events around the world. This time around, she posted about her experience in a Facebook dating group that had Tom Evenstad in its midst.

Tom Evenstad is a man from Minnesota who was allegedly framed for rape back in 1999 and was maliciously prosecuted by prosecutors who were just doing their job. Evenstad definitely holds a grudge about this, having written about being wrongfully accused in a statement letter about the Red Flag Law Bill HF15 from this year.

The bill is aimed at flagging individuals who are at an extreme risk to themselves or to others to have their firearms temporarily removed. In his statement, he claims that the 1998 rape accusation has ruined his life, making him the “Poster Child for opposing this Bill because if the State can target an innocent person and destroy their entire LIFE OVER THE UNCORROBORATED TESTIMONY OF A LIAR, YOU ARE IN DANGER OF BEING RED FLAGGED YOURSELF AND IF YOU POSSESS OR CARRY AFTER BEING RED FLAGGED, YOU’RE GOING TO PRISON TOO.”

The video posted by @_simply._.complex_ brought on the attention of TikTok influencers who are drawn to finding out more about potentially dangerous individuals, hoping to discover enough to try and inform others about the situation. Specifically, the video was reposted by @TizzyEnt, who is popular for this sort of content.

Rachel explained that she confronted Everstad and discovered that it really was him, prompting a short dispute between the two. Commentators agreed with how Rachel spoke to Everstad, with one person specifically saying, “being mean to men should be an Olympic sport! I would 100% watch that! [expletive]… I would sponsor the american team!” Hopefully, nothing comes out of Tom Evenstad’s campaign, and he doesn’t get any more attention than he deserves.
