A man in Little Rock, Arkansas, attempted to attend a waxing appointment under a woman’s name so that he could have a female waxer work on him. Fortunately, he was met with quite the surprise when he discovered the male owner of the waxing center sitting at the front desk. Needless to say, the customer wasn’t very happy that his incredibly creepy plan didn’t work out as he had intended.
The above video was posted to @estheticianpete’s TikTok account. Pete is the owner of this waxing center, Healthy Radiance, and of other health-related businesses in the city, which is primarily what his account is about. Here, he records a customer walking in and checking in for an appointment under the name Jeanette. When asked where Jeanette was, he replied, “Jeanette is kind of irrelevant. My name’s Chase. My appointment, my wax.”
Immediately after hearing the customer had essentially lied about their reservation, Pete explained that he would be the one performing the waxing, not the woman originally scheduled. This is to ensure the safety of the female employees who work there. Considering that the man needed to lie about his gender to book the appointment, he probably should have realized that too.
The customer wasn’t pleased with this and asked about rescheduling the appointment to a different day because he really wanted a female waxer. Commentators immediately filled the comments that condemned the customer’s actions, with some of the top comments saying, “Some men are just disgusting,” “And why are you booking under a woman’s name???? Predator!!!!” and “He knew what he was doing, that’s why he gave a fake name.” I definitely have to agree with the last statement.
To uphold his professional demeanor, Pete says that if the customer doesn’t want a man to wax him, he can go down the street to another waxing center. The customer really tried to keep arguing, but Pete was not backing down, doubling down on the fact that at his establishment, only men wax other men, and women wax other women.
I’d like to think the customer was banned not only from this waxing center but from all nearby establishments as well. It’s clear that he knew what he was doing, and it’s terrifying to think about what could have happened if he had been left alone in a room with a female waxer.
