People have all kinds of ways to express their political beliefs or dislike for certain figures. Some take it to extremes, while others keep it relatively harmless. For instance, you might see Trump supporters tearing up anti-Trump signs, or critics of Trump snatching MAGA hats and running off with them.
A recent example came out of Chicago, where a man found his own unique way to show how much he dislikes the former president. A strong critic of the current administration, he shared a video explaining that he had spent $20 to buy a MAGA hat, but not for the reason you’d expect.
It didn’t take long to figure out what the Chicago man planned to do with the hat. In his video, he spat on it, then pointed to a trash can in front of him before tossing the hat in and saying, “Punk” a comment that was clearly aimed at Trump.
He later tried to justify spending money on something he despised. “It’s OK, the owner was a nice Mexican woman. She said she didn’t want to sell them, but has to make a living. I told her to try selling FDT hats instead,” he wrote in the comments.
At least his way of expressing his feelings didn’t hurt anyone, though it did cost him $20.
People Reacting to the Chicago Man’s Video
Of course, Trump supporters couldn’t resist responding to the Chicago man’s video. They found it hilarious that he’d spend money on a MAGA hat just to throw it away, so most of the comments were mocking him. “Thanks for the support. Liberal logic at its finest,” one person wrote. Another added, “You manage money just like a Democrat.”
That comment didn’t sit well with everyone, though. Some fired back by pointing out Trump’s own spending record. “Trump added one trillion to our debt in just two months, and that was while he claimed to be cutting waste, fraud, and abuse. Supposedly, we’re making bank from tariffs, right? So tell me, which side is really horrible at managing money?” one person replied.
Those who mocked the Chicago man didn’t stop at his actions; they also made assumptions about his sexuality just because of what he did. “That’s how he met his boyfriend,” one person commented. Another added, “Your boyfriend must be happy,” while a third asked, “Does your husband have the same hat?” Someone else even called him a girl, writing, “You’re so tough, girl! Spent $20 just to throw it away while the vendor made their money.”
I’m not sure that would even be insulting to him. Interestingly, not everyone who dislikes Trump agreed with the man’s approach either. “I wouldn’t get that trash not even for free,” one woman wrote. Still, it’s his money at the end of the day, and he chose to spend it however he wanted.
