Unfortunately, most women are never safe no matter where they are. They could get attacked at their work, for example, and this is what happened to two Arizona women. One of the women shared how they were working at a restaurant in Gilbert when they got assaulted by a customer. The man had his wife with him as they sat at the restaurant’s bar where the two women were working. This took place around Halloween and both the man and his wife were drinking. While the couple was still drinking, the two employees noticed how the man was getting aggressive toward his wife. So it was clear that this man isn’t safe to be around, especially since his wife looked scared.
The Arizona woman who was telling the story, named Kelly, shared where the issue was. For some reason, her coworker was outside just like the couple. She suddenly ran inside, grabbed her phone, told Kelly that the man just threw a glass at her head, and started running outside. Of course, Kelly followed her to make sure she would be safe. She said in the video that with the way the man was aggressive toward his wife and the two of them, a lot worse could have happened if fewer people were there.
Kelly’s coworker started calling 911 while Kelly herself started filming. At this point, the man was getting ready to get into his truck with his wife; he was planning to drive while under the influence. When he saw them, he headed toward them and he definitely was up to no good. In a short clip of him when he went toward the two women, Kelly told him to take a few steps back. He didn’t listen to her. What he did instead was to swing his fist toward her head. So he basically assaulted both women. Thankfully, she managed to duck out of the way. With everything that was happening, people from inside the restaurant started coming out and that’s when the man decided to leave.
Later, the cops came and took both girls’ statements. Unfortunately, the card the man used didn’t have any name attached to it. The good part here is that the restaurant is next to a mall. The mall’s security told them that their camera footage caught everything so this definitely helped. After what they went through, the two employees decided to press charges. Good for them.
What Happened Next
The most recent update the Arizona woman posted was kind of disappointing. Instead of their workplace supporting them after the assault, both girls were fired. It started with the restaurant pulling all of her shifts. Apparently, the unhinged customer saw the videos and called the restaurant and complained. Imagine firing your employees because the person who assaulted them complained. She then revealed that her manager was the one who refused to cut off the man’s drinks saying that it was Halloween. So he played a part in the customer assaulting both of them.
The good side is that people managed to identify the Arizona man. He has been charged with two counts of assault and disorderly conduct. An officer also informed Kelly that the mall’s security footage was helpful. It made it indisputable that he assaulted them. She said that she and her coworker would hear from the prosecutors in four to eight weeks. Unfortunately, though, the man wasn’t taken into custody, but he was cited and served. Hopefully, he would be brought to justice and the restaurant would also regret what they did.
People Reacting to the Arizona Women Getting Fired
People were left furious that the two Arizona women were fired. Since this is considered wrongful termination, a lot of comments advised them to sue. “SUE. SUE. Please tell me you guys got an attorney about being fired,” one person wrote. When Kelly said she couldn’t afford it, another person said, “A lawyer will take a case like this and collect their fees from the judgement. It’s a slam dunk case.” Someone else added, “If you were fired after reporting assault you need a lawyer.” One man even asked in shock, “let me get this straight… customer gets aggressive with bartender, bartender speaks up about it, customer is upset over the consequence of his actions and complains to bar owner, bartender is unjustly punished.… FOR. WHAT?” That is a good question.
Others wanted to know what was the name of the Arizona restaurant, so they wouldn’t go there. “What is the restaurant so I never give them my business?” one woman asked. Another woman had the same question, “Gilbert local here. So which restaurant are we no longer spending $ at?” This is when one TikTok user replied and said, “Yes! I need to know so I don’t spend my money there. Horrible management.” Kelly, however, doesn’t plan to expose the place. “Hi guys- please refrain from posting guesses as to who my past employer was. I do not want the employees still working there to be caught in the crossfire of all of this and I have been advised to keep the name of the place out of it until I figure out what to do legally,” she wrote.
