There are many parents who would do absolutely anything for their children, no matter the obstacle. One Oregon father really proved how far he is willing to go in order to do something as simple as taking his daughter to a doctor’s appointment. Despite having been a former upcoming MMA fighter, his paralysis, paired with the fact that he lives on a second-floor unit in his apartment complex, really shows his dedication to still being a good father.

The above video was posted to the TikTok account @swagnarr and features former MMA fighter Corey Wyatt. On this account, Wyatt typically posts about his journey through paralysis after a four-wheeler accident forced him into an early retirement from his MMA career. In this particular look into his life, Wyatt shows what his daily routine looks like, leaving his apartment and heading to his garage.

However, things are a little bit different when you don’t have the use of your legs. He shows that since his apartment unit is on the second floor, he needs to drag himself down the stairs, one leg at a time. Fortunately, his daughter is incredibly helpful, carrying down the skateboard that will later be used to transport him to the garage.

Once at the garage, Wyatt has to then grab his wheelchair, pull himself into it, and then rest his daughter on his lap so they can be on their way. Fortunately, it appears that the doctor’s office isn’t very far away. The rest of the video details their journey, having stopped at a gas station to grab a few snacks on their way back. After arriving home, he had to repeat the whole process from earlier backwards, just to get inside

Various commentators flooded Corey’s video with words of kindness and admiration for having to endure these obstacles every day. One person, commenting on his determination, said, “The true definition of “no excuse”…. I have so much respect for you. ♥️” However, there were also a number of comments focused on Wyatt’s rights as someone with a disability.

There are many mentions of his apartment complex having to abide by ADA (the Americans with Disabilities Act). One comment in particular said, “America is so [expletive] to its ppl. There shouldn’t be any reason this man isn’t in an ADA unit & has the necessary means of transportation.“

Corey Wyatt currently has an ongoing GoFundMe page dedicated to purchasing an adaptive mountain bike as well as moving. The fundraiser has already amassed over $12,000 and continues to grow. In the description, Wyatt acknowledges the comments from his viral video, explaining that he didn’t realize he had ADA rights.
