Everyone knows the phrase ‘love thy neighbor.’ However, it’s pretty clear that people who actually believe in that might not have ever had a bad neighbor. One woman in Rockford, Illinois, took to the internet to share her terrible experience with a neighbor. Have you ever had someone steal your packages and then return the boxes that they came in to your face? Well, what ensues is an insane argument that honestly, needs to be seen and heard to truly be believed.

Come confront my neighbor for trying to keep my package 🙃

The above video was posted to the TikTok account @jessetorres10, also known as Jessenia Torres. She is a licensed esthetician from Rockford, Illinois, whose business is riddled with five-star reviews and wonderful comments. According to the above, Jessenia has ordered a few things from Amazon that were scheduled to arrive. However, when she noticed that the drop-off image Amazon provided didn’t match her front door, she searched for the house it was mistakenly taken to.

Upon arriving at her neighbor’s house, she noticed the packages were not outside, as they were in the image. So, she decided to knock on the door and inquire about them. However, instead of helping her, the Karen who opened the door allegedly tried to cover her tracks. It seems that she had opened the packages and was trying to hide any evidence of her having done so.

In fact, there is even a point in the video where the neighbor returns to her front door with the empty Amazon packages in which the ordered items were delivered in. Commentators were just as livid as Jessenia, with one of the very top comments simply saying, “opening someone else mail is a federal offense you can press charges.”

Illinois Karen Steals Her Neighbor’s Packages

Stealing packages is, in fact, a federal crime. The name and address on every package are unique to a specific person and place. Should someone other than that person open their package, then there is a risk of personal information being easily accessible.

Jessenia never reveals exactly what she had been expecting in those packages. However, judging by how the neighbor Karen was reacting, it must have been something important. Commentators also make note of this, with another comment saying, “Whenever I get someone else’s package, I NEVER OPEN IT!! I actually take it to my neighbors house and ring the bell if they have a camera and talk to it or I wait and bring it back when someone’s home!“

In a follow-up video, Jessenia reveals that she did not call the authorities. She also reveals that she contacted Amazon, who agreed to resend her items free of charge. It’s likely she was able to share the now viral video with the company. Hopefully, the Karen neighbor thinks twice the next time she receives a package that isn’t hers.
