As the colder season approaches, it’s important to have a warm coat. However, not everyone has access to the appropriate clothing for the season. One woman in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, made it her mission to ensure that a young girl she’d seen the day before walking to school without a coat had one. It might have been a small gesture, but it’s one that will likely go a long way for the young girl, and the footage has since gone viral.

The above video was posted to the TikTok page @mamajaymack, which belongs to a woman named Jayda. She is a part-time esthetician and mother who also happens to have a heart of gold. In the video, Jayda explains that she has been searching for a girl that she saw the day before, who was walking to school in the cold weather without a coat.

Because Jayda had been running late to work at the moment she had seen her the day before, she was unable to stop. However, now, she carved that same block of time out of her day to see if she could locate the girl, with two coats in tow. It isn’t long before she finally does find her, also not wearing appropriate clothing.

Jayda then slowed her car down, rolled down the window, and called out to the girl, asking if she would want a coat. Jayda then gets out of her vehicle, while the camera is still recording, and makes small talk before ultimately giving the girl one of the two coats. After the brief exchange, Jayda returns to the car and explains that the young girl was incredibly grateful, as she didn’t have her own coat, and it was Picture Day retakes that day.

Not only was Jayda able to help the girl with clothing, but she also took a moment to touch on the fact that she is giving away free meals on Thanksgiving Day. She describes the event as being more than free food, with blankets, jackets, socks, and more available for those who need them.

Commentators jumped into the replies to show how much they admire her devotion to her neighbors, with one person saying, “This is community ❤️.” Many other comments focus more on her kindness, with the top two saying, “Probably was late to work but you were definitely on time😭🫶🏾” and “In 30 years She’s going to remember the nice lady that stopped and gave her a coat!“

In an update video, Jayda explains that she was able to get in touch with various people, including the CEO of the Salvation Army, to donate foodstuffs to her cause. It goes to show that good things will always happen to good people.
