During the holidays, many families like to leave small snacks and drinks on their porches as a gesture of appreciation for delivery drivers who spend long hours on the road. One Georgia homeowner has been doing this for more than nine years without any issues. However, this season, her Ring camera captured an Amazon driver whose behavior left her frustrated and questioning whether kindness is still worth the effort.
What Her Camera Caught
In the video, the driver walks up to the woman’s porch with her package in his hand. He pauses, takes the required delivery photo, and then casually tosses the package onto the ground near her door. Considering he had already walked all the way to the porch, the man could have taken a few more seconds to set the package down properly or even bend down to make sure it was secure. Instead, he moves away, leans against a porch pillar, and takes another photo of the item he had just dropped on the floor.
A moment later, the driver walks toward a small metal rack placed near the entrance, which the homeowner had filled with snacks, drinks, and small treats for drivers passing through her neighborhood. A card sits at the top of the rack thanking delivery workers for their hard work and inviting them to “take some goodies for the road.”
But instead of taking a single snack or even a couple of items, the man begins helping himself to several at once. He gathers packs of what appear to be chips, cookies, and canned drinks, stacking as many as he can into one hand while tucking others firmly under his elbow. Once he has collected everything he can comfortably carry, he turns around and simply walks off the porch.
The homeowner shared in her caption that she felt the man took far more than what was reasonable. “When trying to be nice goes wrong,” she wrote, adding that in all her years of setting out treats during the holidays, she had never seen a delivery driver behave this way.
What Netizens Are Saying About the Delivery Driver’s Behavior
Viewers who watched the footage had a lot to say about how the driver treated both the package and the snacks. One person said, “Smh that little toss, but he was over doing it with the snacks.” A second wrote bluntly, “Some people have no shame.” A third commented, “Let’s feed the hungry people. No — not like that. One can only be hungry for ONE ITEM AT A TIME 🙄.” A fourth added, “ THIS is why it’s hard to be kind sometimes.”
A few, however, leaned into humor, with one person writing, “Dang! He needs a grocery bag!!!” Another joked, “He thought it was trick or treat 👻 smh.” someone else remarked, “You packed his lunch box for the rest of the week… all he needs is a sandwich and soda 😂😂.”
