With the number of DoorDash delivery thieves we see posted online these days, you might think that all DoorDashers are just dishonest hooligans. Of course, that certainly isn’t the case, but one man from Tennessee might have been convinced of the fact when a deliveryman arrived with a PetSmart order, only to come back 15 minutes later and steal it. Unfortunately, the receiver was at a doctor’s appointment and wasn’t around to take the order in, but the thief was caught on the homeowner’s front-door camera.

The Reddit user has bizarrely deleted both their original post and entire account since the incident, which occurred on November 25th, according to the camera’s footage. “Removed videos of the dasher as it was not nice of me to put these up on this forum whether people choose to believe me or not,” the poster explains in a comment. However, the ‘deleted’ post still exists on r/doordash under the title, “DO NOT USE DOORDASH.” According to OP, they were infuriated that their order was marked as delivered, only to be later stolen. Not only was this blatant theft “absolutely unacceptable,” but the fact that they also noted DoorDash refused to help made their situation even worse.

Fortunately, the story has a good ending, as the user says that “Petsmart refunded me and they are going to go after DoorDash,” but only after they had to deal with eight customer service representatives from DoorDash. And while plenty of people agreed that DoorDash isn’t an ideal service for deliveries in the first place, many more wondered why OP didn’t consider taking the situation up with the Tennessee police first. As the top comment puts it: “That’s …. Theft. If you have video evidence, make a police report and share the video, if you’re lucky ya got the plate number too.”

Hopefully, DoorDash looks into the driver who committed the theft and deals with him, as it’s the least the company can do.
