There are a lot of exciting weapons coming to Destiny 2: Renegades, but one of the most anticipated ones is the one inspired by the crossbow Chewbacca wielded. While many might be looking to get this exotic due to its combat capabilities, others might just want to add it to their vault for its looks and to keep feeding that Star Wars-inspired drip. Here is how you can obtain Heirloom in Destiny 2: Renegades.
How to Obtain Heirloom (Chewbacca Crossbow) in Destiny 2: Renegades

As you may or may not know, there are several exotics you can get in Destiny 2. When it comes to expansions, they often come from quests, the campaign, or more commonly, a raid or dungeon. In the case of Heirloom, which many refer to as the Chewbacca crossbow, this one is the dungeon exotic of Destiny 2: Renegades. In other words, you’ll need to grind Equilibrium until you get it to drop. However, it isn’t as easy as just queueing up for the instanced content and getting it on your first attempt.
If history repeats itself, then you’ll be able to get Heirloom by either completing Equilibrium on Contest Mode or waiting for it to drop after you finish the final encounter once Contest Mode ends. It is important to note that the only guaranteed drop is the one you get in Contest Mode. If you’re farming the dungeon normally, then you’ll have to grind the instance until you get Heirloom.
In terms of perks and traits, this is what comes with Heirloom:
- Bolt Thrower (Intrinsic Trait):
- This weapon fires high-powered explosive bolts. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.
- Big Game Hunter (Trait):
- Aim down sights for a period of time to overcharge the next bolt fired. Increases damage and area of effect for each charge level.
- Ultralight Rail:
- Greatly increases handling speed and decreases reload speed.
- Light Heatsink:
- Increases handling and vent speed.
- Short Action Stock:
- This weapon is especially easy to grip.
Since this is a Solar weapon, Prismatic or Solar subclasses will benefit from it. However, some other Guardians might find other uses for it. In any case, it is a beast of a weapon and one that will be especially helpful when facing some of the toughest foes in the game.
