A hairstylist in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, may be considering legal action against DoorDash after the company refused to refund him for a delivery driver who allegedly ate his $50 Raising Cane’s order. The customer shared the incident in a TikTok video, explaining that he had ordered a “3 Finger Combo” meal to be delivered to his workplace. While waiting inside, he suddenly noticed that the DoorDash app marked his order as “delivered,” even though no food had arrived.
Feeling suspicious, he stepped outside to check the parking lot and was stunned to find the delivery driver sitting in her car with her young child. Both appeared to be eating what looked like his order. What made the moment even more surreal was that the child, seated in the backseat and eating from a box, smiled and waved at him through the window. However, the hairstylist did laugh briefly at the child’s innocent reaction, which made it clear that his frustration was directed solely at the mother.
The Driver’s Reaction When Confronted
In the comments under his video, the customer explained that the driver had allegedly tried to “trick the system” by placing a much smaller order under her own name. She then attempted to use that smaller receipt as proof that the food inside the car belonged to her, even though the child was eating from the larger meal that matched the customer’s $50 combo. In other words, she tried to pass off one small order as proof that both meals belonged to her, even though one of them clearly did not.
So, when the hairstylist asked her to show him her receipt, she began digging around inside the car but could not produce anything to prove that both boxes were hers. The customer eventually grew frustrated and told her that the meal cost him fifty dollars and that she needed to go back to Raising Cane’s to sort out the situation. He warned her that if she didn’t make it right, he would report her actions and request that her entire DoorDash account be suspended.
But despite the clear evidence he had, the customer said that when he contacted DoorDash multiple times to request a refund, the company repeatedly told him he was “not eligible.” He also claimed he was denied every time he asked to speak to someone higher than the representative who answered the phone.
Netizens React to the Baton Rouge DoorDash Incident
TikTok viewers had strong reactions to the video, with many shocked and even amused at the bizarre situation. One person commented, “I’m starting to dislike us 😒 cause why would you have your child eating MY ORDER??!” Another wrote, “It’s so crazy how the dasher still shows up knowing they already eating your food.” A third said, “DoorDash has become very ghetto smh, they literally accept anyone as a dasher.”
Some couldn’t get over the child’s innocent reaction, with one viewer joking, “Not the baby laughing and waving,” and another adding, “That little girl was digging in your food.”
Meanwhile, others urged the hairstylist to take action beyond contacting DoorDash support. “Call your bank, start a claim along with this evidence. The bank will give you the money right away and audit DoorDash,” one comment advised. Someone else said, “Stop reporting them to DoorDash! Call the non-emergent police line for theft of services!”
