There have been whispers across the galaxy about a new Star Wars game, especially now that the license is out there and many other studios are available to take their shot at this never-ending universe. Well, today we got an announcement that we were not expecting. Arcnatus Studios just unveiled Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. But that’s not all, one of the most legendary figures in the sci-fi RPG landscape is coming to bring this long-forgotten back from the dead.
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic Announced
In case you missed the mind-blowing announcement, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was just announced. This will be a brand-new single-player action-adventure game. While the big news of The Old Republic series finally returning is big enough, the truth is that the one helming the project is the one who made us stand up from our seats.
Video game legend, Casey Hudson, who worked on the Mass Effect series and Knights of the Old Republic, is helming the project. Many of you might not see this as a big deal, but trust us, it is. Knights of the Old Republic is among the best RPGs ever made, not only for Star Wars, but for the whole genre. On the other hand, we all remember how ground-breaking Mass Effect was, so having the one who worked on both taking the lead in this project is a win for all Star Wars fans.
There is little information about the game out there, other than the fact that you’ll take the role of a Force user. But the fact that it is single-player is extremely hopeful. Star Wars games have been on a roll lately, especially those that move away from multiplayer aspects. So, we imagine this new game will be among the best we’ve seen, and we only hope we get a release date soon because we can’t wait to try it.
