It seems like there will always be homophobic people who can’t leave homosexual couples alone. Unfortunately, a gay couple in Hawaii came across a homophobic woman who decided to harass them despite them not doing anything to her. The married couple was sitting together after they finished their run when the woman approached them. It was clear that the two of them were men, but she still asked them if they were “husband and wife?” When they responded that they were “husband and husband,” she had a disgusting response as she asked them, “Oh, you’re two of those, right?” At this point, the two of them were confused about what was happening.
The Hawaii couple’s confusion kept increasing as the woman continued talking. She asked them if there were kids and they said no. She then asked them if they were friends which was quite obnoxious. They had to repeat to her once again that they were married. “You’re a husband with some kids? For your husband and wife,” she then said which definitely sounded weird. Finally, once the two men said no, she understood what they had been saying since the beginning of this interaction. Instead of leaving, she told them, “I shouldn’t be sitting with you folks.” I mean, you were the one who approached them. The men couldn’t help but laugh as they saw her leave. “That was insane,” one of them said.
The married couple kept trying to understand what just happened as the other one then started saying, “What the hell is she talking about? Literally husband and wife? Girl, no, you see both males, girl.” They had every right to be confused, though, because half of what the woman was saying didn’t even make sense. At least they managed to handle the situation well despite being disrespected just for existing.
People Reacting to the Hawaii Couple’s Video
A lot of people were upset by what happened to the Hawaii couple. Since it is 2025 and there are still homophobic people out there, one person asked, “Why is this still happening in 2025?” This made another person reply, “why are u shock ? its 10 times worst in 2025 and it will continue to get worst. The number in right wing people are surging rapidly over the last 2 years.” Someone else added, “Because the leaders in charge are normalizing it. It’s getting so much worse.” There was also one commentator who was confused by what the woman was saying. “This hurt my head because what didn’t she understand?” they asked. Someone answered them saying, “She understood, she was playing dumb so she could exhaust some hatred In an understated way.” That might be possible.
More people came after the homophobic woman as they applauded the Hawaii couple for their reaction. “Ugh you both are so calm and collected I love it, she didn’t get the reaction she wanted and that’s the best part about it,” one person wrote. Another person told them, “Wow. I’m sorry that happened to you. How hurtful and unnecessary.” There was also one woman who said, “I’m a 73 year old white woman. Honey it would be my honor to be seen with you and your husband. You handled her with more grace than she deserved.” It’s good to know that not everyone is like the woman in the video.
