When someone films an interaction they just had, they would hope that people would be on their side. This is probably what a Virginia Republican candidate had in mind when she shared a video of a situation that happened to her. In the short video circulating online, a woman was arguing with the candidate about something that the video didn’t show. When the woman noticed that the candidate was filming her, she told her to take her picture. She then asked her if she would like her name, and when the candidate said “yes,” the woman proceeded to curse her. The mysterious woman went up to the Republican candidate and told her, “[expletive] you, and [expletive] ICE, and [expletive] Trump.”
As the Virginia woman started to walk away, she turned toward the Republican candidate and proudly said, “I am Antifa by the way. You’re looking for the leader. I’m the leader of Antifa.” The video ended there, and this interaction made the candidate call the woman a “Karen.” Well, people didn’t agree with her. She probably thought that internet users would criticize the woman who just cursed her. They, however, started celebrating her. The video was also shared by a TikTok user who is known for identifying individuals who appear in controversial videos. He too agreed with the woman and joked that he couldn’t find out who she was. She already gained fans.
People Reacting to the Video of the Virginia Woman
Under the video showing what the Virginia woman said, thousands of people started praising her for all the cursing she did. One person considered her their hero as they said, “She’s appropriately angry at the state of our country and the attacks the administration has made against the Democrats. She had the courage to speak it, and is my new hero.” Someone else added, “I love her. Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they wear purple fleece jackets.” Another person didn’t find her a Karen at all as they wrote, “I thought she was going to be awful… ma’am…. That was kinda hot.” Others also joked that they “couldn’t” identify her. “As a VA resident, I can confirm she is not here,” one person said.
More people expressed their appreciation toward the Virginia woman as one person wrote, “She’s invited to the carne asada, BBQ, pow wow, all celebrations where love is the glue that holds everyone down!” Some people also replaced the term “Karen” with “Carin” as someone wrote, “No Kings in America, but this Queen rules! Happy New Year, Almighty Carin!” Another person said, “We need more Carins like her! Proud American speaking out against fascism.” There were also comments where people wanted to know her just to buy her something. “I live in VA. I’ll buy her lunch,” one person wrote. Another asked, “Does she have a gofundme?” This whole situation definitely had a good ending, but not for the Republican candidate.
