A letter addressed to Norway’s prime minister is raising questions about President Trump’s mental health. The correspondence is being described as concerning and unfounded, with many worried about the stability of the U.S. administration. Its wording was so bizarre that several political leaders are now calling for Trump to be removed from his D.C. office.
According to PBS News, the brief but unusual letter reads:
“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a ‘right of ownership’ anyway?
There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT.”
Political Leaders Express Concern
Other U.S. political leaders are also calling for Trump’s removal, including Rep. Yassamin Ansari of Arizona. “The president of the United States is extremely mentally ill, and it’s putting all of our lives at risk. The 25th Amendment exists for a reason—we need to invoke it immediately,” he said in a statement. Democratic U.S. Senator Brian Schatz also posted on X, calling the president “not stable at all” and saying, “his reality is warped.”
Once the news hit Reddit, users’ reactions were very much the same. “This letter to Norway basically reads like someone venting in a text thread after a bad day on social media. Linking not getting a Nobel Peace Prize to wanting a geopolitical island is absurd on its face and has pushed bipartisan unease to a new level,” one user comments. Another comments on the president’s recent string of bizarre behavior, saying, “His recent speech had him constantly confusing Greenland and Iceland. Grampa needs to have his keys taken away and be put in a home.”
